Avatar and the Trees
I watched Avatar back in January in a regular cinema (because I know I wouldn’t be able to stand 3D, my eyes would hurt). And I found it really nice. It was as they say ‘napapanahon’. People should be aware of environmental issues not only in our country but also around the globe.
If only I were president I would rule that each individual should plant at least one tree in a year. In the case of minors, their parents/guardians would be the one to do the planting for them. Same with the senior citizens/handicapped and the like, their guardians/children or any able individual could opt to do the duty for them. They could plant trees either in their backyard or if one is not available, government would facilitate the planting on available farm land or even in mountains. Imagine, we could have 90 million trees in just 1 year. If I were president for 6 years, that would be a whopping 45+ million tress. Isn’t that noble? It’s doable di ba? With political will, definitely it can be achieved. Sana may ganun talaga noh. Sana. Tapos for every tree being cut, 10 should be planted as replacement. Galing noh. Sana may maka realize non. Kahit sampung puno sa bakuran namin mag tatanim ako. For the mean time, I could only do that project in our home. I’ve already started actually. I planted 6 caimito seeds sa likod namin. Yun nga lang, sana tumubo.
Going back to the movie—Avatar was one of those films wherein I wanted humans to die. Hehehe. I was rooting for the Na’vis. :)
I was also hurt every time a tree is obliterated by the humans. Hahahaha. Affected!!! Pero seryoso yun. Sana people would care more for Mother Nature. Because she can definitely retaliate and we saw it when Ondoy happened. And El Nino is still here. Things like these should teach us valuable lessons. Easier said than done I know, but like what I mentioned, it’s will power darling—and we gotta have that!!!
