Just because it's Thursday
Moved by Heartwarming movies
I love watching movies. It’s an activity I would gladly take on anytime.
Last week, while I was on the bus headed to my hometown –Tarlac, a movie by Richard Gere was being played.
I didn’t initially catch the title because I was kindda sleepy but, later on I found out it was about an Akita dog named Hatchiko and his relationship with his master- Richard Gere’s character. This dog patiently walks his master in the train station every morning and watches him leave for work and then fetch and waits for him in the train station at 5 pm and walks him home. Hatchi never got tired doing this. Even after the untimely demise of his master, he continues to wait for his master at the same exact time in the train station, hoping to see his master’s familiar face. This waiting went on for 9 long years after the master died. Just imagine that, whew!!!! Talk about tremendous amount of loyalty!
I enjoyed the movie, it just affirmed how loyal and faithful dogs can be. They don’t care if you’re the fattest or the most snobbish and stubborn in the world, they just love you for all that you are, warts and all!
It was quite a tear jerker, however I didn’t cry cause I was in a bus and there were loads of strangers around me. Mejo nakakahiya umiyak. :)
KITERUNNER
Also tearjerker.. There are disturbing scenes though, and the story itself is kindda chilling (not in a horror kind of way) but nonetheless beautifully made. Plus I didn’t know Afghanistan was a beautiful thriving country before all those invaders and terrorists. This movie also depicts unquestionable loyalty and second chances.
