Movies, atbp.. Magulong post!

I love watching films, kaya nga halos gabi gabi, nanonood ako ng movie.

Among all the films that I’ve seen recently (about 30 in the past month), may tatlong nag stand out na talagang I can’t stop talking about. Actually, yun yung gauge ko eh, if I can’t get over the film easily and I can’t stop talking about it—that means sobrang maganda yung film. Hehe! Well in my lifetime, marami na rin akong napanood na sobrang ganda, at among them ang nag stand out ay Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Jerry Maguire, Lord of the Rings, I am Sam, ano pa ba? Meet Joe Black, Se7en, Hannibal, Silence of the Lambs, Catch me if you can, Batman Begins and the memorable—Titanic! :) May mga romcom din akong gusto like My bestfriend’s wedding, Notting Hill, Ms. Congeniality. Ang favorite tagalog film ko naman ay One more Chance!!! Tapos there was a time (actually hanggang ngayon pa din pala) na gustong gusto ko panoorin ang mga movies ni Leo Di Caprio. Naging favorite actor ko siya mula ng mapanood ko ang Blood Diamond, The Departed at Body of lies. Tapos sinunod kong panoorin ang Aviator. Bumili ako ng DVDs before ng lahat ng movies ni Leo. Ayos, bilib ako sa performance nya—nag mature siya mula nung Titanic! Pero lalo ko siyang nagustuhan ng mapanood ko ang Inception, and we watched it twice sa cinema! Ganda ng istorya. May maiiwan talaga syo. Para sa mga nag iisip ang movie na ito. Hahaha! Ahem! Niloko ko nga mga students ko, sabi ko ang di makagets nito, bobo! Pero joke lang yun! :) Ang gusto ko pang panoorin na movie nya ay Gangs of New York.

So yun, recently 3 films ang nagustuhan ko, eto yung:

1. Inception

 I liked it that much that's why I watched it twice in the cinema. Worth every centavo!!!:)

2. Social Network

3. 127 Hours

Actually nadiscuss ko na yung Inception before, pero yun, sana nga lang nanalo siya ng Best picture sa Oscars. Black Swan ang nanalo, hindi ko pa napapanood pero sa tingin ko naman maganda din ito. Isa sa favorite actress ko si Natalie Portman, so sa tingin ko naman hindi siya basta basta pipili ng pelikula bilang nag aral siya sa Harvard, dialogue pa nga nya—“I’d rather be smart than famous!” Taray! So idedefer ko ang judgment ko kung sino dapat ang nanalo for me hehehe, kala mo eksperto! :) Pero I just wanna say na sa ngayon the best ang Inception when compared to Social Network, 127 hours and the King’s speech. In my honest to goodness opinion, Nolan has made an insanely and exceptionally superb film!!!

Yung iba pa nyang gawa na nagustuhan ko din ay Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Prestige na si Hugh Jackman ang bida! Maganda din yun about competing magicians!

Magaganda yung mga napanood kong movie na gawa ni Nolan, pero pansin ko dark yung theme nila. Pero siguro yun yung appeal ng mga movies nya. Look at what he did in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, best batman films ever! Parang naging joke tuloy yung gawa ni Tim Burton atbp. Sorry. :)

Next – Social Network. Before I even watched the film (thank you torrent!), nabasa ko na yung Time magazine interview sa Facebook founder na si Mark Zuckerberg. Sa totoo lang ang ganda ng pagkakagawa ng movie nito, akala ko magiging boring pero hindi, highly entertaining siya! Ang Galing ng director na si David Fincher, yung mga iba nyang films na napanood ko na ay Fight Club, Se7en at Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Yang 3 pelikula na yan ay nagustuhan ko din! So no doubt na high caliber si Direk, in my opinion of course!

Going back dun sa Social Network, very well acted ang film, yung gumanap na Mark Zuckerberg ay magaling, si Jesse Eisenberg, kuhang kuha nya yung nerd-na-maangas attitude. Pero yun nga, according sa interview sa Time Magazine mukhang kinokontra ng real Mark Zuckerberg yung portrayal sa kanya. According to some of Zuckerberg’s friends, hindi nman daw siya totally socially inept at hindi nya inembento ang facebook to get the girl—kasi in reality daw—he already has the girl!! May girlfriend na daw si mark. 

Si Andrew Garfield (the next SpiderMan) yung talagang nagustuhan ko dito. He played Eduardo Saverin (who apparently is also a consultant of the film), yung ex-bosom buddy ni Mark Zuckerberg! Fan na ako nito, napanood ko din yung isang movie nya na Never let me go, and he can act ha at sobrang cute! Galing nya even dito sa Social Network. I was almost moved to tears nung dineliver nya yung one-liner nya kay Mark na “I was your only friend. You got one friend” line. Pero I bet marami ng ibang friends si Mark now—facebook friends! Hehehe.

Ito yung scene kung saan nasabe ni Eduardo yung line nya na 'I was your only friend...etc'.

I seriously almost cried!

Justin Timberlake was also included in the film. People may disagree, pero ewan ko, I liked his performance. I thought he was great. JT got me really irritated sa character nya na si Sean Parker, co-founder ng Napster, so I guess—effective siya and believable!

Ano bang yung crux ng movie? Kasi ganito yun—yung Facebook alam na natin ang purpose di ba? To connect people and all that, and in fact I believe it’s one of the greatest invention ever. Imagine you can connect to anyone even as far as Timbuktu, as long as may FB account siya at internet siyempre!

Ang pinagtalunan kasi sa film eh, hindi naman daw original idea ni Mark yung Facebook. Kaya gusto siya idinemanda ng Winklevoss twins. Kasi yung twins may project sila na ganun na Harvard Connection, social networking site din kaso exclusive siya to Harvard students! Supposedly tatapusin ni Mark yung program, eh ang nangyari gumawa na nga siya ng sarili nyang social networking site that is a lot better than Friendster and MySpace—the Facebook pa noon ang tawag. At hindi lang siya limited sa Harvard students. Nag expand siya with other universities and eventually, everyone who has an email account and is of age  (dapat) can sign up. So that was what happened! The twins were devastated at feeling nila ninakaw ang idea nila. May mga email sila from Mark to prove na parang iniiwasan nga sila nito mula ng makausap nila at ma-ishare yung idea nila. Sa movie parang ganun nga yung lumalabas.

Based dun sa movie, did mark steal the idea or not? I dunno if it really is stealing, pero obvious dun sa movie na nagkaroon talaga ng idea si Mark mula ng makausap nya yung twins! Naalala ko tuloy yung quote na “Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known." - Chuck Palahnuik (Invisible Monsters)

Sabe nga ni Mark sa movie.. “they had an idea, I just had a better one!” May point naman siya! Well sa movie yan ha, hindi ko alam kung ano talagang nangyare sa kanila in real life.

Yung issue naman ni Eduardo Saverin was that he was tricked by Mark and Sean Parker. Eduardo’s share was diluted from 34% to .03%. Now that is sad! Actually partly to blame din si Eduardo, dapat kasi pinareview muna niya yung kontrata... Eh sabagay, kaibigan nya si Mark, so he wasn't half expecting na magiging ganun ang mga pangyayare. So yun, nagdemanda din siya at kaya nagkaroon si Eduardo ng line na “I was your only friend. You got one friend”. Drama noh, pero sad naman kasi talaga yung nangyari sa kanya!

Eventually nag settle din si Mark, binayaran nya yung twins at si Eduardo ng undisclosed amount of money.Sorry hindi ko alam kung magkano. I wasn't a privy to their agreement! Hehehe!

All in all, the film was awesome. It’s high up there in my ranking, siyempre pangalawa sa Inception.

Marami akong favorite lines, pero yung top three ay:

1. I was your only friend. You got one friend.

2. You better lawyer up asshole, cause I’m not coming back for 30%. I’m coming back for everything.(Eduardo to Mark)

3. Sorry! My Prada's at the cleaners! Along with my hoodie and my 'fuck you' flip-flops, you pretentious douche bag! (Eduardo to Sean Parker!)

Ang ganda ng mga lines... Kaaliw! Sobra! Ang fascinating dito was when Jesse Eisenberg met Mark for the first time in SNL. He asked Mark what he thought about the film, and Mark said it was interesting. Yun lang.

127 Hours

Eto yung film na hindi kasing kumplikado ng Inception pero maganda pa rin. Simple lang, nadaganan ng napakabigat na bato o boulder ang kamay at braso ng isang Canyoner. It was as simple as that. Period. Hehe. Ang kagandahan nito, nagawang maging intesting ng director ang istorya, pinakita yung hirap, disgust, pagsisisi, hope, survival insticts at unbelievable strength ng bida. Nice.. Sobrang inspiring ito. May mga point nga lang na disgusting like yung pag inom ng ihi ng bida, pero ang galing ng direktor kasi hindi nya basta pinakita na tinungga lang ang ihi, may effects and art pa sa pag inom. Galing… Simpleng istorya naging maganda!

May isang scene dito na pinakita dito ang pag amputate ng kamay na hindi ko masyadong tiningnan dahil hindi ko kaya. Weakling ako. So hindi ko maidescribe kung ayos ba yung scene na yun o hindi. But all in all, superb ang pag gawa ng film. Pinakita dito na lahat talaga gagawin ng isang tao para mabuhay at makita ulet yung loved ones nila. Lovely!

Moral lesson: Inform others about your destination or trip. Leave a note for others to see! Para pag nawala ka, may maghanap sa iyo at alam nila kung saan ka hahagilapin!
